Congrats to Austin. But be careful spending any city resources on this. If there was ever a giant sized scam this could be it, imho. Just be cautious with any money
Tesla is too successful to run a scam. Naysayers need to realize Tesla is in fact building a large and rapidly growing set of product lines, that there is sufficient infrastructure to support it most places, and there’s way more money in industrial success than there is in “take the money and run”.
This site is where Tesla will build both an enormous volume of batteries (and has already done so several other places), and plans to build their electric pickup (like it or hate it, there’s hundreds of thousands of pre-orders). The batteries feed the trucks, the trucks commoditize the exotic steel used for extremely successful SpaceX rockets built nearby.
Tesla has multiple battery & EV factories worldwide. Why, or even how, would they run this one as “a giant sized scam” without completely f-ing up the fantastic system they legitimately have?
