The Chinese know that if there are hostilities diplomatic protocol becomes null and void.
So the question again is ....why?
It could mean their primary equipment to destroy documents is out of service, or it could mean something much more sinister.

Im not sure either. Its something definitely fishy. The public display of burning them is definitely Something worth watching. I doubt they only have one paper shredder in that building that could destroy those documents or some more secluded space where they could burn them in smaller quantities to avoid anyone noticing, so something is definitely going on.
