I don’t know about AEI or Cato, but to my mind, Heritage is the biggest fraud in a long time. Back in the 80s a friend urged me to join and contribute, but I decided to watch a while and see what they ACCOMPLISHed And I’m still waiting. I’m not aware of anything they’ve done in all these years that amounted to a bleep. Just taking in donations and an occasional empty claim of undefined victory.

Oh you’ve made a context error perhaps? The article’s not talking about the Heritage foundation, they’re referring to the (lower case) heritage of the Confederate flag and the Southerners love of their heritage.
That said, I’m inclined to agree with you about the upper case Heritage foundation. I see them thus far advocating for the leftward relocation of the center.
