VAN METER, Iowa (AP) Gov. Kim Reynolds announced Friday she would override local school districts and require students to spend at least half of their education time in classrooms despite concerns the move could endanger children and teachers as the number of coronavirus cases increase in the state.
Reynolds decision will invalidate plans implemented by some districts including Des Moines, the states largest school system, to limit in-person classes to one day a week for most students with online learning on other days. The governors actions are in line with the fervent recommendations of President Donald Trump, who has said its essential students return to classrooms despite surging numbers of virus cases in much of the country.

I don't think teachers' unions will like the idea...
Thankful my days of dealing with public screwls are over.
Good. She’s being a competent governor. Other states need to follow her lead.
Good
Good for her.

Awesome! Now lets hope many more governors follow her courage and good sense.
If it is safe to do one day a week in person education, it would be safe to do five days a week! If the situation is unsafe, shut it all down. Sell the brick and mortar. Lay off all of the teachers. Go to permanent on line training. Else, open up the schools for education!
