It’s not simply the CDC as a whole, as I attempted to explain in post #12 on this thread:

To summarize briefly, when dealing with someone from the CDC, ask if the person has ever been a part of the EIS (Epidemic Intelligence Service) or not. Those who have been part of the EIS at some point are likely the good guys. Those who haven’t been may more likely be bureaucrats or government appointees.
If the EIS are good guys, why have they not stepped in to stop the madness?
