The free money story is BS. The figures given, $13K for covid treatment and $39K for patient on a vent was not some kind of bounty or bonus. That was Medicare telling the healthcare system what they would pay for each of those. It does the exact same thing with fractures, sinus infections, childbirth....whatever. Just what they agree to pay.
