I have read that dementia patients get tunnel vision and also that when they are spoken to by people they can’t see it doesn’t really register.

This is true. I’ve worked in three nursing homes and have seen and interacted with dozens of dementia patients. It’s not only if they can’t see the person it’s also if they suddenly don’t recognize the voice of a person they spoke to even a few moments ago, they won’t answer because they don’t recognize the voice or the persons face.

Skunk Cabbage had that 4 years ago when she got heckled - just froze up. Her handlers had to snap her out of it. They responded really quick, as if it was nothing new.
