Freedom from what? Being a decent human being? Is someone trying to subjugate you?

executive orders masquerading as laws, which they are not; actual laws being voted on by the legislature, not proceeding from the desk of someone with a pen and a phone and didn't we all have quite enough of that!

The "mask" may seem a small thing; indeed, it is precisely as small as the proverbial straw. The camel, given the power of Balaam's ass, is demanding relief.
It is rather small taken by itself. It seems to some like yourself, a "light and transient [cause]" which we have been "more disposed to suffer, while [it is] sufferable, than to right [ourselves]". Not so; it is a small car in "a long train of abuses" in which the Governess has subjected us, not to "a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws", but rather to "Acts of pretended Legislation" emitted from her own desk without reference to the representatives of the people, who have become her cringing lackeys despite what we have hoped was firm and laborsome petition.
And so, we defy, as much as is practicable, and greet one another as fellows in the fight for the restoration of rule of actual law.
Also, we laugh at a virus so dangerous, so virulent, that we have to be tested in order to know we have had it; and so deadly that IF one becomes symptomatic, the mortality rate is so tiny (and becomes more so the younger and fitter one is) that it is surpassed by just about everything else on the spectrum of communicable disease.
Perhaps we are wrong.
Perhaps we will all infect each other and die.
Perhaps we need only wait
