[When a new arena was built in Newark NJ to edge out the Meadowland arena, a concertgoer was attacked (nothing life-threatening) and the story was buried - because they couldn’t let the truth get out that Newark is a dangerous place. There is no real parking at the location, but deals were made with companies in the area to use their lots at night. The problem was that you were exposed waiting for shuttles on corners several blocks from the relative safety of the arena itself; locals all knew better, and the place never attracted the anticipated crowds.]
