I imagine that during the training there was a lot of “internalization” going on.
We had classes like that back in the 1990s. Some of the “presenters” were wearing traditional African garb...and we were told we needed to be accepting of different cultures. I had a line-tech (One of the people hanging cable from the poles) raise his hand. He stated he was German. He asked if he could wear lederhosen when he was working. Which prompted another to ask if the company really wanted him wearing a kilt when he was climbing a pole.
We all got a good chuckle out of that.
