Sen. Collins refuses to say whether she’ll vote for Trump, signals she won’t campaign against Biden

Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, refused to say whether she’ll vote for President Trump in November and signaled that she would not campaign against presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden.

The self-proclaimed moderate Republican from Maine told the New York Times this week she does not campaign against former colleagues. Biden and Collins worked together in the Senate.

“I do not campaign against my colleagues in the Senate,” she said of Biden, adding that she knows him “very well” from their days in Congress together.

“My inclination is just to stay out of the presidential and focus on my own race,” she added.

Collins publicly announced that she would not be voting for Trump ahead of the 2016 election.

Collins, who has represented Maine in the Senate since 1997, may face one of the toughest reelection campaigns of her career as Democrats from outside the state pour in money for her likely Democratic opponent, Maine House Speaker Sara Gideon, in an effort to take control of the Senate.

The race has been rated a toss-up by the nonpartisan Cook Political Report.

Decade or two? Try six months. And they'll come for you and your family. It's happening in NYC and Chicago now. You think we can get 245 Strong Conservatives and zero RINOs in the House and 50 MAGA Senators? The only thing saving your ass is the 90% RINOs that suck, but at least are preventing the Communitsts from doing what the Khmer Rouge did. And again, the reason we keep losing is due to idiots like you.

“The House will be D +15. The Senate is going to be a bloodbath, D +6 and maybe as bad as D +11.”

I see both numbers lower, but D control over both houses. Because I am an optimist.

If Trump does not start acting like a POTUS instead of a thin-skinned “get the libs” child, the commies will have the trifecta: POTUS, both legislative houses, and the SCOTUS. With a fully emasculated cohort of Gelded Old Pansies (max four conservatives in the Senate, a dozen in the House) the puppetmasters behind Biden will unleash a literal Reign of Terror or the Normals. Single Payer health policies. Full blown STASI thought police. Outlawing home schooling. Race reparations. We will live through our own version of the Cultural Revolution.

I hope I’m wrong, but it will take a miracle.

1/2 of the voters in this country have their heads up their ass.

If we sit back on our principled posteriors and vote for the left by abstention things will never change again. Once they regain power they will never give it up again. Very discouraging to hear our side talk like “we all need a lesson” when that lesson will be the final destruction of the republic. Oh, btw, all of these posts and your donation records will be used to hunt us. Yeah, go ahead and root for the rinos to lose, taking our only hope down with them. We need a maximum number of R’s, almost no matter haow squishy, in order for Trump to finish what he started.with judges, de-regulation and taxes. Refusing to vote for the most conservative candidate in any race, even the hated rino, is, objectlvely, an active vote for Biden, his handlers, blm and antifa.

And I just got an e-mail from this reprobate requesting my financial support.

I almost wish she’ll lose if we can gain a few more seats elsewhere.

Okay, Jim Acosta...

who said at 6:30 pm on election night 2016 that top inside sources in the Trump campaign told him that it will take a miracle for us to win.

That doesn’t explain Maine or Alaska, Iowa or Utah, etc...where those RINO’s are from my friend.
You’re not on target with your analysis here. NY, NJ, Connecticut, MA, CA, etc...yes. But, the RINO’s like The Turtle, and Grahamnesty, etc...do not come from states with the issues you outline.

Need 51 with R behind their names to have committee chairs. It can be a capital R or small r, doesn’t matter as long as it is an “R”.

There was a stupid Republican woman congressman in Virginia, Comstock, who played that game in a district that was Republican for 38 years.

She lost because 25,000 REPUBLICAN voters left her off their ballots.

Go right ahead, Collins, with your never-Trump idiocy.

[That doesn’t explain Maine or Alaska,]

Maine is basically a blue state. Not as blue as NY or MA, but blue, nonetheless. LePage won twice because of a Democratic spoiler candidate. Collins has played Democrat in Republican skin in multiple cycles, while voting well to the right of the Democrats. The electorate has changed sufficiently and liberal voters are getting wise to her game such that she is getting too right-wing for Maine.

LOL. Romney misrepresents himself to get elected and votes to remove a GOP POTUS based on a Democrat hoax impeachemnt. And the GOP base problem? Ha ha ha. Funny.

Six months. 10 years. Six of one or half a dozen of the other. The result is the same. There is no opposition party to the progressive-corportist agenda. And the GOP never will be.

Graham didn’t even vote for the GOP POTUS nominee in 2016. Kept his plumb committee chairmanship in the GOP controlled Senate and proceeded to enable the ongoing coup against President Trump. Can you imagine a Democrat keeping a Senate chairmanship after not supporting Hillary? Not in a million years. The GOP as an institution is failing GOP voters.

Forthwith, my family care about electing RINOS exactly as much as they did about electing our GOP POTUS nominee in 2016. That would be: not at all. What’s good for the goose and all that.

I’ve given her some money. I’ll probably give some more. She’s better than Murkowski, especially considering that Alaska’s solidly red.

And your answer is a purity test to teach the GOP a lesson. A lesson they wouldn't learn in a 100 years using your method. six or half dozen? As I said, idiots like you are why we lose.

My “purity test” for the GOP is simple: Do not support progressive Democrats and their agenda. Keep thinking lesser evil voting is the answer and California is your future. Guaranteed. We need an opposition party to the progressive-corportist alliance and the GOP has proven in the Age of Trump that it never will be.

"it never will be". That's the only sane thing you've said. Unfortunately it destroys your argument. Keep wishing for unicorns and butterflies. When in the history of man has what you're envisioning happened? Your strategy leads to the Marxists taking over and killing all the opposition. That of course in history has happened plenty. It were better for us if you were on the other side, advocating for nothing but pure Marxists, and letting the other party win most everything except for your 1 or 2 (if that many) pure candidates that you can find. As I said, idiots like you are why we lose to the Marxists.
