I have mentioned this before, and got yelled at. But I’m gonna mention it again.

One should be quite wary of street interviews like this one. And that’s because it is easy to cherry-pick the answers in order to give the impression you want.

Maybe 100 people could answer some easy question correctly, while 10 do not. If you just show those 10 people, you get an interesting video, but one that is rather disingenuous.

So who knows what’s really going on here?

Well I won’t yell at you because we should all know how the cherry picking goes at times. But, to a lot of “educators” all that history stuff is in the past and best ignored. Sad huh?

Quite valid and does need to be pointed out. Yet can you argue that this series of vignettes appears to be unexpected or discordant to the average young adult of today? The reason it resonates is that we have learned that these youths are not so much educated as indoctrinated by their teachers.

What I would love is to have the same format and ask a set of deeper questions;
1. Specify a racist act in this country that is legal and supported by a majority of the population.
2. Name another country that you feel is less racist?
3. Was this country more or less racist in the past?
4. Which is a better choice; A) praising our country for its accomplishments while striving for improvement or B) damning and destroying its history for its faults?

Such an interview, even edited, would be far more informative, at least to me!

True. But two of the women interviewed are teachers.
