The reality is that the white women will pay for the damage to his car. They were in the wrong, no two ways about it. But the black man will need to fight the hit and run charge. His best defense is that he left the scene of a mob. Others were there to help the victims and he was concerned for his own safety. I am not sure if it will work, but that is worth a try. Its valid. I would not get out of a car there.

He stopped on the highway. Two protestors came after him, one banging on the car. Then he took off.

There's a video showing that he stopped, but then the mob started attacking him so he drove away. He stopped again a short distance away and waited for the police to show up.
