And people will vote for them over and over and over again. Obviously, Richmond is very democratic as is Northern Virginia where from a quarter to a third of the state’s population live (depending on how you measure it). The rural vote is no longer enough to outvote the urban/suburban vote in Virginia.
ImVho, the LAST decent/wise Governor of VA was Doug Wilder, who has been a friend of mine for over 3 decades.

Governor Wilder’s election was an outright revolt against the “Good ‘Ole Boys Club”, i.e., the political elites of The Commonwealth”.
