Yup. They accepted the proposition "Black Lives Matter" but stiffed the organization, preferring to direct their donations to more mainstream outfits. That certainly won't appease them.

Though it does show McD has a bit more common sense than most corporations. They may just be astute enough to see that funding people who are threatening to burn it all down could come back and bite them in the long run.

Lots of McDonalds franchise owners are black, so corporate is probably hearing their thoughts via the back channel. I'd guess the overall recommendation is "Placate the crowd if you can, but offer no money. They'll eventually be back when the McRib returns."
