Pennsylvania started doing masks in early days and they have been successful in slowing the spread. While the masks are not going to filter out Covid laced droplets if someone without a mask sneezes or coughs on you, especially if you are within six feet of them for five or more minutes, but if the sneezing and coughing person is wearing a mask, their spit droplets will be largely caught by the mask they are wearing, keeping them away from you. Thats how it works.

There is no way to prove that

Symptomatic individuals should stay home and not wear a mask
May 11th, 60 Minutes interview: Dr. Fauci - “Right now in the United States, people should not be walking around wearing masks.” His rationale? Makes people touch their faces way more often. Oh, and by the way, where’s the peer reviewer, exhaustive studies that prove your assertion? There are none.
To the contrary, TheBMJ (the British Medical Journal) On April 7th, 2020,said “Commenting on these findings, Simon Clarke, associate professor in cellular microbiology at the University of Reading, said, There is only very limited evidence of the benefits of wearing face masks by the general public, no evidence that wearing them in crowded places helps at all, and no evidence at all yet related to covid-19 . . .”
They also said “A preprint of a rapid systematic review has assessed the current evidence on respiratory illnesses and the use of face masks (mainly surgical paper masks) in community settings. The paper, yet to be peer reviewed, included 31 studies, of which 12 were randomised controlled trials. The researchers reported that wearing facemasks can be very slightly protective against primary infection from casual community contact, and modestly protective against household infections when both infected and uninfected members wear facemasks. However, they said that many of the studies suffered from poor compliance and controls.
And about cloth masks they said “The study, involving the industry partner 3M (which makes medical masks), reported that healthcare workers should not use cloth masks as protection against respiratory infection. Cloth masks resulted in significantly higher rates of infection than medical masks, and also performed worse than the control arm.
So what studies are you basing your outlandish claims on?
Have a nice day.
It is a shame that so many governors seem to believe that a high number of cases/deaths hurts Trump. This is more important to them than helping the American people through a serious health crisis.
It is true that you get more of what you subsidize and less of what you tax. Covid deaths are subsidized in hospitals so they have a monetary incentive to count any possible deaths as Covid. I doubt that this is happening any where else in the world.
