[Trump said it again last month -we need infrastructure - then McConnell publicly nixed it.]
The fact is - Trump wanted the tax cuts and made sure they happened, but did nothing on DACA and the wall until the reality of the 2020 campaign and the inevitable are-GOP-voters-better-off-than-they-were-4-years-ago question began staring him in the face. Unfortunately, by that point, the GOP House majority was a fond memory. He thought his voters would stand by him through thick and thin. He was wrong. The SALT tax hikes in the blue states were all it took to undo the 2016 GOP House majority - blue state RINO’s were defeated in droves. He insisted on those tax cuts, and all it got him was a Democratic House majority-driven impeachment drive.
Youre making the same argument against Trump infrastructure platform that Ted Cruz, Rubio and othe GOP candidates made in the 2016 primaries. Maybe that traditional libertarian argument is right. But the point is, Trump won the nomination and the election on those infrastructure promises, they helped him win traditional democrat areas that dont vote for the libertarian message. Hes going to have a challenge in those regions because he didnt deliver - regardless of whether your libertarian arguments are right as a matter of theory
“...actively campaign against McConnell in the Senate primary to ensure that he went down to defeat, thereby ensuring...”
that the democrats will gain control of the Senate, and then Trump can really, really get his stuff voted in.
I can never, ever, understand people like you who are willing to cut off your nose to spite your face.
