Tucker Carlson warned viewers Thursday that President Trump is facing an uphill battle for reelection and a victory for former Vice President Joe Biden would enable the "radicals who control" him to "remake the country."
Before laying out what Trump should do to boost his chances of winning a second term, Carlson recalled why millions voted for him in 2016.
"Alone among national leaders, Donald Trump warned Americans for decades about China and the perils of globalization. Everything about the war on coronavirus proved Donald Trump right," Carlson said. "China really is our main global adversary. The Chinese government really does want to take over the world. Meanwhile, the fact that we sent our manufacturing base abroad really has weakened us badly. The most powerful nation on earth no longer makes antibiotics. [We are] not as powerful as we think. All of that is very obvious now, after the pandemic, but Donald Trump called it.
"The core appeal of Trump," Carlson went on, "was if things ever started to fall apart, he would defend you. Yes, he was loud and crude. Most bodyguards are. Only a man like Donald Trump was tough enough to fight the creeping authoritarianism of the education cartel and corporate America.

If by "set their face" you mean marshal every argument and fashion it in logical order to nurture conservatism, I am with you.
Indeed, I salute you for having done so brilliantly in your subsequent reply #71 in which you lay out fact after fact in support of the counter proposition to the effect that Trump will win. As we close on the final days of the election we run the risk here on Free Republic of reliving Valentine's Day when everyone fails to behave as you did in reply #71 and resorts reflexively to the ad hominem. As one who has several times in this forum been zotted by rampaging vigilantes for alleged "trolling" I am wary, very wary, of finding a troll behind every reply.
Free Republic is one of the most valuable, perhaps the most valuable, forums for the full exploration of conservative philosophy by ordinary citizens of goodwill. When we wrangle over the motives of those who appear to be insufficiently zealous, we become in action what we deplore in leftists. We are the crucible of citizen-led conservatism, to serve our foundational principle we require a cauldron where bad ideas are burned and good ore is purified. That cannot occur in a forum contaminating the assay with invective.
You have contributed greatly to this thread in your reply #71. You recite fact after fact which many do not know or have forgotten, all of which support your argument that Donald Trump can and should be reelected. Bravo! But would I be a troll, or a "lying purveyor of doom" if I were to acknowledge the facts you relate and reply "yeah but"? You point out things that I did not know: infiltrators and National Guard; distribution of photos; civilian federal agents; curious videos; arrests of 500 people nationwide. But is not that the significant point, that I did not know these things?
If I did not know these things, one who closely follows the news, I suspect the vast bulk of the voters who are persuadable and who live in the battleground states do not know these things either. My point? In an election year perception trumps reality.
Other facts you do point out that I was aware of: the mobs of overshot; Seattle insurrection; deep blue effects of insurrections and Covid 19; gun sales. All good points, but why have these points, or the points not so well-known, not improved Trump's poll numbers? Carlson makes the argument that the virus and the insurrections by conventional wisdom should have strengthened Trump's position but by all of many poll indications, Trump has rather weakened.
I do not see this as a forum to disparage those sounding the Claxton of danger in November or damn those calling us to arms to defeat this enemy. I regard defeatism as a vice but a vice no more dangerous than adamant, irrational Pollyanna-ish optimism. As I said before the defeat in 2018, I would rather rejoice in the defeat of my pessimism than regret my optimism the day after the election.
Is this a forum to exchange and test conservative ideas in the classically liberal expectation that the best ideas will emerge, or is this a forum for cheerleaders?
Trump’s “core appeal” was on full display during his rally in Tulsa. It hasn’t gone away.
I like Tucker Carlson but sometimes he just talks stupid.
Trumps state by state wins would have been higher if not for all the fraud in 2016. It was miraculous he was able to pull a win in corrupt dimocrat run states where cheating is rampant.
This time around the corrupt characters have been cleaned out of the NSA and it is monitoring the election. This is why they are pushing vote by mail so hard. It’s their only path to cheat. They can’t remotely flip the voting machines provided by George Soros’ any longer.
Fox News is basically corrupt so they are pushing the Biden leading over Trump poll mantra in hopes that if they can cheat and win, people will believe it’s legit and won’t think it was from fraud.
Threads like this always bring out the NeverTrumpers who are always good for a laugh.
“I wouldnt blame him one bit if he decided to go back to private life to enjoy his remaining years.”
Absolutely. But you know how “they” are. No matter where he is or what he’s doing, he and his family will be persecuted endlessly until the day he dies. They WILL make him suffer for beating Hillary.
I feel so sorry for that man. Only God could’ve given him the strength to survive this long with 2/47 persecutions. If he reached a point where it isn’t worth it, who would blame him??
You really are a laughable little troll. Good to see more and more FReepers on to your BS. Stick to soccer talk.
Tucker did not consider the fact that Trump has an opponent that is batshit crazy and Biden has no where to go but down, I was not impressed with Tuckers POV.
The left filth will milk covid for all they can. They’ll keep the economy shut down & continue terrifying some people with junk science.
I also expect a mass shooting or two, another invasion from Central America, and any dirt they can find from anyone ever associated with Trump.
I still think he wins but by a slim margin. Then more rioting.
Fun times
“Tucker did not consider the fact that Trump has an opponent that is batshit crazy and Biden has no where to go but down”
He also did not consider the fact that electing the President by the people will not happen. Everything will be done by RAT voter fraud. It makes no difference who the candidates are or what their platforms are.
Polls, debates, etc., are inconsequential; they will steal the election.
Soccer makes people stupid, and you just proved it. You can’t seriously be all depressed and resigned to a Trump loss in the election because of a retarded, obviously fake news article. The words in that article are not the words in context, and you are too ignorant to just take that at face value after you know what fake news is? I sense something wrong in your thought process and critical thinking, or you just let your troll slip.
I think one could make the case the Trump presidency ended June 2, 2020 when Milley and Esper disavowed the President's march through Lafayette Park to St. John's church.
Of course, can there possibly be enough stupid people in this country that would prefer a senile old man that cannot create a coherent sentence, whose political party is tearing this country apart to Trump, who has proven his competency?. Electing Biden is unthinkable. Tucker was giving America excuses to vote for Biden, which is ridiculous. Tucker needs to be going after Biden, not Trump!
Yea, so do you expect us to vote FOR Biden? Give me a break!
No kidding, he didnt even mention Biden.
“The President will not lose to Joe Biden.”
from your lips to God’s ears, but right now the Trump campaign is floundering, get rid of or re-assign Brad Parscale (campaign manager of we have 1 million tix request in a city of 400,000?) and get someone who knows how to run a campaign, stay on message and cut down on tweets, hell bring in Ed Rollins he and Reagan only won 49 states.
We need to work and pray the economy comes back or Tucker is right
It would’ve been a turning point in the chaos if they had not turned on our President. The troops could’ve been sent in to restore law and order the next day. Would’ve been game over for the left.
I believe the Lord is going to use President Trump for something (I won’t say public or privately right now) in the time ahead. Perhaps for a couple of things.
BUT I can’t say it’s a word of knowledge from the Lord. So I may be incorrect on that. That’s but one reason I won’t mention it.
It’s what the Lord wills, as always.
Keep praying FRiends and keep looking up.
I guess you can’t understand sarcasm. Obtuse.
Is Biden even going to participate? His Front PorchBasement campaign appears to be working. He can use COVID19 as an excuse.
Après nous le deluge
From Tuckers monologue:
Spend an hour on Google. See if you can find a leader in the history of the world who stayed in power after failing to quell a rebellion. You cant.
