So, another law passed that the police are responsible for the enforcement.

Police approach a black guy that is not wearing a mask to issue a citation. Black guy initiates a fight with the cops, cops issue a beat down and/or kill the guy.

Trump and his supporters are racists.

If you don’t want people, especially black people, to be stopped by the police or arrested, stop making new laws.

Democrats b*tch about (illicit) drug laws but they are the ones behind the prohibition laws. The dems b*tch about the police stopping and arresting people for myriad reasons but they are the ones that are creating the laws that the police must enforce.

An alternate headline for this story:   "Governor Isloony - Mister Meany".

Liberals are just losers really. They need back up to speak their truth because they know their argument is flawed.

And the Maryland general asylum has remained remarkably silent.

Lockdown Larry has used the constitution for toilet paper and nobody seems to care.

What can the people of Washington State charge the insane Marxist governor Inslee, with? Malfeasance of office? Impersonating a sane person? Sleeping with Antifa?

Hey Jay!

Not your call idiot.

You have no such unilateral authority and "makes a statement" is a pathetic objective.

I'll be there in August and am NOT wearing a mask OR going under quarantine.

“Conjecture, not science.”

Here is the main finding from the study, leading to the inference that wearing a face mask is associated with reduced emissions of the virus through respiratory droplets or aerosols:

‘We detected coronavirus in respiratory droplets and aerosols in 3 of 10 (30%) and 4 of 10 (40%) of the samples collected without face masks, respectively, but did not detect any virus in respiratory droplets or aerosols collected from participants wearing face masks, this difference was significant in aerosols and showed a trend toward reduced detection in respiratory droplets (Table 1b).’

“Symptomatic individuals should just stay home.”

That’s good advice, but several studies have shown that asymptomatic infected individuals also can shed the virus and place others at risk of contracting the virus.

Yes, I read the finding, but the authors weren’t confident enough in their results to say that masks would or can prevent transmission. Instead they said could.

That’s the first thing I check in an abstract. Without a definite finding a study provides little more than interesting reading, conjecture, and possibly a point for further study.

I don’t think anyone disputes that barriers can inhibit droplets. How about virus not in droplets or aerosols?

The cdc stated about a month ago that asymptomatic patients do not shed virus so the pertinent studies you mention are dated.

Here is what WHO (for what it’s worth) said on June 9th about the spread of the virus by asymptomatic carriers:

https://www.statnews.com/2020/06/09/who-comments-asymptomatic-spread-covid-19/

Here is a preview (pre-print) on the CDC website of an article to be published in July of studies of the spread of the virus by asymptomatic carriers:

https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/eid/article/26/7/20-1595_article

Our knowledge of many aspects of the coronavirus (origin, spread, treatment, and mortality) is seriously incomplete and ever-changing.

I think that laws based on feelings about the motivations of people are ridiculous.
