The best scouts are the ones that you don’t think are scouts. If mouthy Laqueasha with the dreadlocks comes around to a mostly white suburban neighborhood, slowly and obviously casing the place, she will soon find herself escorted out - and be lucky if it is by the police.
Here's the thing - it was a very bright young black lady trying to play things as if she was a disadvantaged person from Detroit that was trying to get her baby back. Now I'm sure that's a pretty common canned speech as it closely matches a magazine sales guy's story I met in the 90’s. However, she was bright. capable of understanding my witty remarks and giving them back without pause. Trust me, it's kind of rare. Not that I'm brilliant, but I definitely think differently.
It could be paranoia, but I'm pretty sure the discussion took such paths that, if she was scouting, they'll go to the next neighborhood.
