n Defense of Thomas Jefferson

Last week in New York City, the author of the Declaration of Independence became the latest target of the statue wreckers as elected officials formally asked Mayor Bill de Blasio to remove the statue of Thomas Jefferson from City Hall.

Councilwoman Debi Rose (D-Staten Island), representing the anarchists, said: “[Jefferson’s] words are ‘all men are created equal’ but they were not matched by his action, which included the ability to sell, buy, mortgage and lease human beings.”

Rose’s argument, as so many others who have criticized America’s third president for owning slaves, is trivial at best, since his positions on slavery underwent several evolutions.

Jefferson, in fact, always spoke out against institutional slavery throughout his political career. For example:

Irrelevant. The Left always demands hyper-perfection from any figure or group that stands in their way, and will smear them with anything possible, including lies. They want Jefferson and Washington torn down because they weren't better than Jesus, nor did they live up to modern standards 200 years before those standards existed, despite doing things that improved the freedoms, economics, and culture of the entire planet forever.... while canonizing career criminal drug addicts like George Floyd, whose only significant moment in 4 decades of living was getting killed by someone with a certain outfit and skin tone.

It is long past time we stop trying to explain or expose the hypocrisy of the Left. Everyone knows, and those who will listen and change have already done so. Pointing at them and saying "see? we told you!!" for the 2,384,702nd time does nothing.

These Atheist/Satanist Commie filth don’t care about anything to do with
the Judeo-Christian God or Jesus

Eliminate Jefferson then We can stop interpreting Jefferson’s Danbury letter as a directive to “separate Church and State”

Nice Debi, Nice.

Her actions speak clearly. Her agenda is clear.

It’s easy to posture about slavery now, 150+ years after the end of slavery in the United States. None of these people ever ask themselves what they would done if they had been born into a slave-owning family in the US before the Civil War. Would they have freed their slaves if it meant becoming destitute? How would they have arranged it so that their former slaves would have had a way to make a living (whether staying put or moving to a free state...where racial prejudice was as strong or stronger than it was in the slave states)?
