We have the statwide ‘wear a mask’ edict in VA for a couple of weeks now. People are just not doing it. As the weeks have gone on, fewer & fewer are wearing them. A relative went to 3 stores yesterday, did not wear a mask in any of them & in one store, the employees were not wearing masks. Another relative said that in his small community, if a place of business requires a mask, people just take their business elsewhere.
The edict here is supposed to be enforced by the “Health Department”, so you can imagine how that is (not!) happening. Also, if you are exempt for one of many reasons listed in the Gov’s order, you do not have to explain it. Employees of wherever you are not wearing a mask are not to interrogate you about it.
In NC, there should be exemptions to having to wear a mask. Also, check who is responsible for ‘enforcing’ this ... it makes a difference.
One more thing .... a lot of those who are wearing masks are leaving their noses uncovered so they CAN breathe.
