Last week, Quaker Foods North America announced that it would be rebranding Aunt Jemima products because their “origins are based on a racial stereotype” of a “mammy.” Now, the family of one of the real Aunt Jemima’s, Lillian Richard, is fighting back. They don’t want the company to erase their ancestor’s legacy.
Vera Harris of Texas told KLTV that her second cousin Lillian Richard worked as an ambassador for the Aunt Jemima brand. Richard worked for the popular breakfast line of Quaker Foods for over 23 years, dating all the way back to 1925.

Come on people. The people who made that decision and run that business were within their rights. It’s called freedom. Let the chips fall where they may. We have other fish to fry.
There are a lot of black people in commercials on TV. Aren’t they being exploited because they’re black? They’re going to fire them aren’t they? There are many black people who have jobs in civil service. Are they being exploited? Shouldn’t they be fired too so that they can no longer be exploited? How about basketball. Shouldn’t all those black athletes be fired because they’re being exploited?

Of course they were. No problem here. My issue is with the virtue signaling. I dropped Aunt Jemima when they did away with her do-rag.
Just because it’s legal, doesn’t mean it’s right.
Abortion is legal, too. Do you feel the same way about that, that it’s within their rights and it’s freedom so we should let it go?

True, abortion is legal now. But there’s a legal theory that your rights end at my nose (in other words you don’t have a right to punch me in the nose). But the aborted baby has his or her whole life taken away. More devastating and permanent than a punch in the nose.
So- the moral of the story is- In order to fight racism- they have decided that they can’t keep giving royalties to black people/decedents, or something-

I think it is funny that blacks are incensed that black faces are used in advertising. They are really gonna be mad when they turn around one day and realize that they have no market share regarding advertising. All of a sudden there will be no black faces in advertizing. All the money will go to other minorities that are not as sensetive. Blacks feel as this pic is demeaning to blacks. Wait til they don’t use blacks anymore so they cannot be “offended”. Another DEMAND they have not thought through.
Will Quaker back down to the actual family descendants of “Aunt Jemima” or will they back down to the angry leftist mob?
I cry myself to sleep each night thinking about how awful it must feel to be a multi millionaire and have no NFL team offer a contract. Someone, anyone, please stop the inhumanity!
