Criminal referral? I think that is one step before a sternly worded letter.
I too am frustrated. However, much of what we know today started with one man who was under constant attack - Devin Nunes.
Nunes can only make referrals. That is it. He is not the prosecutor or DOJ. Nunes is in the minority in the house in part because of the Russian collusion delusion that put the first 2 years of the Trump administration under a fraudulent cloud.
Will this result in anything? That is up to DOJ no matter how ticked off we are. However, this does keep pressure on DOJ.
When I go to a restaurant, wait forever, and then have the waiter tell me that they are putting the finishing touches on, I know I still have a long wait. This is a stall, and the results will be insignificant.

Which might get DOJ's attention if it really was Congress.
It's the Republicans on the House intelligence committee which isn't quite the same thing.
And Barr will promptly put them in file 13.

How many people even care about this anymore? They’ve delayed this so long that it isn’t even relevant.
OK Congressman, that is great! Now, how many “referrals” are in the works?? And, what action has DOJ taken thus far?? Just a concerned citizen asking!!!
The problem with criminal referrals is that the DoJ is under no compunction to do anything special with them. The House was sending up a lot of these back when the GOP was in charge, maybe a dozen back then.
I think there was significant pressure to indict McCabe, after the OIG report said he lied. McCabe got referred by the OIG to the "Office of Professional Responsiblity" aka FBI's HR department, and was fired. And then his case was reviewed by the U.S. Attorney for DC, but she finally announced "no charges will be filed". McCabe had *ALSO* been referred by the House guys (Nunes, Gowdy) a bit earlier.
We heard nothing about the other people they referred, and that was three years ago.
So I don't hold out much hope of anything coming out of these referrals either.
Just following up on this... any word?
