> Unionized. I call fake news. There is no way everyday working citizens can just walk off the job. <
It does happen. I worked for a time (5 years) in unionized steel mill. We all walked off the job once. Every last one of us. But it wasnt as bold as it sounds. We knew we werent going to get fired. The mill is filled with skilled tradesmen. You just cant hire those kinds of folks off the street. So we knew our jobs would still be there the next day.
That was a protest. But maybe these cops are actually quitting.
Side note: I understood the reasoning for that mill walkout. But I was not in favor of it. But if you dont go out, maybe youll have an accident in a dark corner of the mill about a week later.
I watched a crane operator in a steel shear department of a US Steel plant neatly take off a guys hard hat as a warning with a sheet pile lifter. Not exactly a surgical instrument. Mad skills. Funny thing was it was all a personal beef. The ensuing fight was hilariously unskilled.
