If you are an Atlanta police officer, the apparent expectation is that if a suspect resists arrests, wrestles you and your partner to the ground, steals a taser, then fires it at you, you will be prosecuted for shooting him even if you are justified in doing so under APD rules.

The huge majority of cops are heroes standing between citizens and criminals. Malign them as the villains, and you shouldn’t be surprised when they walk away, and you find yourself face to face with the real villains.

He’s got it backwards. Cops are the only thing standing between criminals and armed, angry citizens.

Neighborhoods will organize their own defense, and do so without the restraints imposed on police.
