Their revolution continues.
So I guess a lot of David Lean movies would not make the cut. No people of color in "Doctor Zhivago" and no women in "Lawrence of Arabia". If requirements are specific about people of color I guess most period dramas are verboten.
People of color will now sweep the awards even if the film was made in the back yard and edited in the basement.
They’ll need a microscope to see the ratings of next year’s Oscars.
Oh, good. That should be entertaining. Something that has been sorely missing from those broadcasts for about 40 years.
Do people still watch that? I’ve not seen it since the mid 90’s.
Aaaaand we now have participation awards and everyone is a winner.
Actually they need to give out participation trophies, like children’s sports groups.
We must no offend the Left by leaving out anyone who might be offended.
They need to give an Oscar to anyone that has ever been in a Hollywood film, and tell the original winners that they won because of white priviledge, and white guilt (sarc).
Like the movie that won last year and was so bad it was instantly available for free on Amazon Prime.
Now we know what that stupid video was all about........................
Let me guess: 1/2 the nominees have to be black?
I wouldn’t mind if they added a requirement, can’t have some idiot white liberal helping them, like that stupid “The Help” movie.
Schools, businesses, etc. deal with affirmative action policies, so why not the Oscars?
Were the Oscars *ever* really about quality work ?
I guess they’re shooting for record low ratings.
Well, I’ve darkened the door of a movie theatre twice in the last few years (The King’s Speech and They Shall Not Grow Old), so it is certainly not my money funding these clowns.
Presumably this will free hollywood and the oscars from the “oscars so white” stigma. Now, films featuring predominantly white actors and directors will be free to collect awards because they have black actors in the scenery. Or will it be a sincere effort to “right a wrong”? Hint: When was the last time hollywood, the home of those who fake sincerity for entertainment, produced anything sincere? (
Those are very un-inclusive movies /s
