The answer to re-Americanizing education is simple: avoid and de-fund any form of schooling that indoctrinates Marxism. Emphasizing home schooling, choosing only universities known to support traditional American values and refusing to make alumni donations to Leftist colleges would be a good start. Supporting the old sports team should take a far second place to saving your children and America.
