Have they checked to see if they can buy insurance in a city without a police force?
I guarantee you that every business in the Minn-StPaul area is right now working on a plan to relocate to safer location should the Police Dept get de-funded. Those who cannot move are working on plans that include private security budget increases ... on-site guards, more cameras, etc. Any business that cannot do either of those things will close up shop, clean out the bank account, and most likely leave the state.
The tax revenue stream will evaporate. Obviously none of those Minn city council folks are bright enough to realize the impact of their actions.
I can see massive flight out of Mogadishu North America. Is any sane business going to stay open? Who’s going to go there as tourists? Mall of America will look like Sarajevo in 2 years.
I told my son who’s a cop they were going to send social workers for calls. He said really, to a domestic where the 300 lbs man is drunk and beating his wife and kids and you are going to have to use pepper, taser and probably go hands on? Right he said that will work out great, go for it!
