That's part of the wonderful and sometimes whimsical civic art program. They either purchase the sculptures or get them on loan from artists and place them about town. Mudgy the Moose and Millie the Mouse are characters from a children's book entitled "Mudgy & Millie in Coeur d'Alene" written by local author, Susan Nipp.

They are on the Mudgy Moose Trail.

The Mudgy & Millie moose sculptures are some of the best!

The artist, Terry Lee, is an amazing painter and sculptor. Here is a link to his sculptures.

Real moose are often spotted around town and we see them wandering through our yard north of town a few times a year. Here's a family taking a break in a yard in Post Falls in February this year...
