I think once the "robber" hands over his weapon at gunpoint to the store owner the robbery is basically over. At that point there is just a kid looking down the barrel of a 9mm pistol pointed at him by a police officer. Maybe he decided at that point he really just wanted to buy something. Or leave.

Given the rioting, and the NYC DA's get out of jail without bail policy, arresting the kid was probably more effort and risk than it was worth. Disarming him was probably enough.

With all the grief they are taking I am pleasantly surprised the police are out doing anything at all.

This was a law passed by our 100% Dem state government. They took over the state in 2018. I knew at the time they were planning something.

And now they are letting all the prisoners out so they don’t catch covid.

This is what happens when there is no longer a two-party system. Total abuse of power.
