Total deaths are way above predicted.

How quickly you and the mainstream media seem to have forgotten that many of the initial predictions coming from the doomsayers were for millions of deaths in this country alone.

My wife and I live in a county that has had several times as many deaths as the one that you are in, yet you are the one currently freaking out and predicting that the worst is yet to come. I am embarrassed for you. There is not much hope that anything that I could tell you would ever make a difference.

One of the most important numbers for any contagious pathogen that is initially making its way through the population is the Reproduction value, or R0. With Covid-19 this value has varied from location to location depending on various circumstances and the type of data and models being used to calculate it. The average initial value has been just over 3 from data supplied from sources from around the world. By contrast the value for highly infectious pathogens like measles is around 18 in populations which have not been inoculated.

As the pathogen progresses the value calculated is R effective or RE. When the value of R effective is less than 1 it signals that pathogen is on its way out. In the vast majority of states including Texas, the R value is now less than 1 even averaging in intentionally skewed numbers provided by state health departments under governors who want to try and dislodge President Trump from the presidency by intentionally torpedoing the economy no matter what the status of the health threat.

The R value has intentionally been manipulated all over the country by misusing numbers that result from the ever increasing numbers of available tests. Earlier in the “pandemic” tests were not available even to people with known exposures and symptoms unless they were members of a group that made them vulnerable. This meant that the number of infected was greatly underestimated. Now when tests are finally available in most places to anyone who wants one, the number of infected appears to be higher than it was previously. This paradigm is well known but ignored by those like you who want to keep the panic going.

Despite the efforts to maintain panic and manipulate the R value, this thing is going away. All the foot stomping, screaming, holding your breath until you turn blue, and everything else you or anyone else can do is going to change that fact. The efforts to “flatten the curve” were meant to keep hospitals from becoming overwhelmed. It was meant to extend the amount of time that it would take for the virus to run through the population. With this pathogen we have no ability to keep people from being eventually exposed by restricting the movement and “social distancing” people who are not sick.

It has become a waste at this point and fear mongering by cowardly idiots is not helping at all.

We must resist and refuse to be locked down ever again. I am embarrassed at how easily people gave up their God given rights.
As an essential worker I never spent one day locked down. The media has indeed scared the s@#! out of me but at the same time... The lies have been overwhelming.
Crazy times.

“Total deaths are way above predicted.”

You simply didn’t understand this statement.

Predicted is the average over the past several years. It is what we would expect without any pandemic. Predicted deaths in the WSJ article has NOTHING to do with COVID-19 predicted deaths.

You simply don’t have the intelligence to understand the WSJ article.

I attempted to explain why your fear mongering, advocacy for the further destruction of our economy and robbing people of their constitutionally guaranteed rights is unjustified - in simple terms. I have extensive training, experience and live in the place where the first deaths attributed from Covid-19 were reported. My wife and I have both been payed and volunteered at the first care facility where these deaths occurred.

My intelligence has been measured many times from my youth; I was reading and comprehending college level technical material in grade school and was considered a child prodigy. It is certainly possible that in my advancing years my mind is not as nimble as it once was, but I am still able to comprehend material from the WSJ.

I hate to say it... but there appears to be something wrong with you.

Here is a graph that shows that the riots have had approximately no affect on the Coronavirus Death Rate.

"2020-06-05

Seems the riots have rendered the coronavirus incapable of spreading … or at least we’re not seeing the dreaded “spike” in cases, hospitalizations, and deaths."

https://wattsupwiththat.com/daily-coronavirus-covid-19-data-graph-page/

Does this graph make it appear that we will hit 350,000 deaths in the USA by the end of the year?
