I don't know if you've read "Leftism Revisited", but the book points out that the French revolution was funded and agitated by the well to do wives and children of the Aristocracy.

I think we have this same class of people trying to create the same sort of monster that ate the French Aristocrats, and they are doing so because they do not understand how this will come back to eat them too.
