My brother was one of them, an MP. He manned a .50 cal, they used recoilless rifles also. They free fired at will.
i was 9 years old at the time...that was a true riot..snipers...running gun battles. Airborne raked apartment buildings with 50 cal to kill snipers. Whats happening now is rioting..but half are white teen age girls...this all could have been stopped night one... but the 60’s riots...thats is how to handle this.

Few things more satisfying than a 90mm recoilless with an APERS round!! Used to have lots of flechettes from those in my ruck. Shooting those was the only reward for humping them through the woods.
