MINNEAPOLIS A tanker truck drove into a throng of protesters on a closed interstate near Minneapolis on Sunday, with the driver pulled from his rig and beaten, as major U.S. cities imposed curfews in fear of another night of demonstrations against police brutality descending into violence.
It did not appear any of the marchers were injured when the truck raced towards them on I-35, blowing its horn, sending protesters scattering before coming to a stop, according to the witness and a tweet by the Minnesota Department of Public Security (MNDPS).
Police arrived soon after and arrested the truck driver, who was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, MNDPS said.
Video of the incident shows protesters swarming the vehicle before it comes to a stop.

'Arrested the truck driver' after he was attacked ??? Did I read that correctly ???
He was driving a FUEL truck at full spead into a large crowd of peaceful demonstrators. When he stopped, some people beat on him, and some tried to protect him. He had a long view of the place where the demonstrators were and should have stopped or slowed down, or gone around. He was arrested. See links below:

Horseshit! I would have been hittin’ the gas and shiftin’ gears.
What does Marcellus Wallace look like?
All Anti-fascist means is that they are communist. It is not that believe in freedom.
Took him into custody for his safety, I presume. Too many leftists to arrest.
And killed someone like the woman killed in Charlottesville and promoted even more rioting.
How did the truck driver get there...the highway was supposed to be closed. Did he drive through barricades or was the closure not well marked? Since he said he was sorry I’m guessing the closure wasn’t well identified.
Just saw the police arrested the driver.
They wonder why people give them bad nicknames, and why nobody likes them.
Your second article states that he got his first view of this episode of Minnesota Zombie Apocalypse as he came around a curve. MINNDOT admits that he was already on the interstate before they got around to placing their barricade. That was a pretty serious dereliction on the part of the same local gov’t that hatched the genius plan to DIRECT their coddled mob to play on I-frigging-35W in the first place.
A bulk liquid tanker takes extra room and a lot of skill to slow down without dumping it over. I pulled bulk liquid hazmat trailers for years, so I know a little bit about this. A lesser driver could well have panicked when he came upon that CF, dumped it, and incinerated every one of those bozos who were milling around on the bridge. A simple internet search will show you about 40 video clips of what happens when a flammable load tanker dumps it on the highway. This guy didn’t do that, and the fact that he risked becoming Reginald Denny II by stopping at all speaks highly of him.
I’m now a grocery trucker in the same region. My aunt in the MPLS suburbs told me last night what anyone else who thinks practically will have guessed by now. The stores that haven’t been destroyed are running out of food. Every trucker in the area will have seen this incident video by now. He will have noted that the government can’t even keep the interstate highways clear, and that he risks being beaten by a mob or thrown in jail by virtue-signaling officials for attempting to bring their citizens supplies. Plenty of them will be telling their dispatchers that they’ll quit rather than go anywhere near that mess. But at least that bad truck driver is in custody.
The media is so full of it!
My initial thoughts while watching it live last night:

They say he illegally enter the interstate?????? Ever drive a road tractor pulling a 45 ft trailer. One cop car could have blocked an on ramp keeping him from driving around and entering the interstate. The cops F-ed up. Either he entered the interstate at a clear on ramp or had been driving on it for a while.
They say he was blowing his horn. He managed to stop the rig. This was at a curve. If he had locked the brakes, he could have jack-knived, rolling the trailer.
They screwed up by not having the interstate closed.
The law enforcement leaders are contributing to the lawlessness. Way to go Minneapolis.

I suspect that a good number of the protesters there (on both sides/directions of the interstate) had that running through their minds. Even after the truck stopped you could see them trying to get as far from the truck as possible. What they were fleeing was the possibility of being caught up in the MOTHER OF ALL TRUCK BOMBS.
"Peaceful demonstrators" don't block highways.
Dont play in traffic, kids.
Crowd was entirely in the wrong.
Yup.
No jobs. Pity.
