I wish I could be that optimistic. Sadly, there’s no evidence anywhere in the world with a sizable population of both races where whites and blacks peacefully coexist together.

You’re on the right track, but I’d replace “blacks and whites” there with “different ethnic groups”. The black/white thing is a subset.
Consider the former Yugoslavia. Most folks there were white, and the place spun apart in a bloody mess.
Diversity is something to be minimized. We as a country should be emphasizing our commonality. But our stupid leaders are doing the exact opposite. Celebrate diversity, they say. Look at Yugoslavia, I say back.
