I lived in Satellite Beach and watched a few launches, too.
It’s absolutely amazing to watch.

I was staying in a condo on the beach and watched from the balcony.

But, back home in Broward County, we could see the Shuttle in the sky during a launch. It was cool, but not nearly as awesome as being right there.

I looked it up...it was Endeavor STS-97 at around 10:30 at night. It lit up the sky like it was daytime.
