I've two BC's....they could careless about you...and most certainly would not bite you. Nor..probably smell you.

They normally do what I ask them to do..they would not know..the Command "Bite that person"!! It's laughable....

I've been bit by dogs...three times..that I recall...A GS..when I was s kid..a little POS terrier when I was adult...and my own dog about 4 years ago...

That last one was all my fault.

There are way to many,”love me love my dog” AH’s out there.
Dogs a frigen animal.
Keep it restrained.

disclaimer, I was raised on a dairy farm, we had dogs, lots of them.
Stangers came by, we put them up.

I hate seeing unleashed dogs, especially when I walk mine. I’ve been bit once by a small dog, only tore my jeans. When I’m with my dogs, 2 GSDs, off leash dogs are often an absolute threat, poorly trained on leash as bad or worse, when they growl and charge my dogs. Who are well trained, but will react at some point, and I know whose fault it will be.

Wveryone else in the world does not know how your dog is going to react to others and stuff going on around them. Put them on a leash and save everyone trouble and yourself, potential liability issues. Plus maybe keep your dog safer as they can’t run into the street.

Her rights end where everyone elses’ begin. And shes choosing to live in a jam-packed very dense populated place.

”Dogs not on leash bite people. Some people are very scared of dogs (like me).”

Here in AZ dogs off of their leash can get mauled by javelinas. It happened to me last week. I was in an area of a phoenix municipal park where people typically let their dogs loose to run on the grass. The moment I let the dog loose on the mowed field it tore off into the desert brush after some javelina’s about 75 feet away out in the desert past some scrub mesquite and got tore up. $600 dang dollars for the vet to stitch her up. If that dog was not my kid’s pet it would have gotten home care from me using leftover prescription antibiotics and superglue for stitches.

Here is what the bite looks like on these things:

I was approached on my own property by an off leash dog. The dog growled, barked aggressively, circled me, and made lunging motions any time I moved. The owner strolled over at a very leisurely pace to get his dog, well aware that I was uncomfortable. I love nice dogs, but I'm disgusted by dog owners who will not control unfriendly animals. I did warn him that the wrong person could kill his dog over that behavior, but without telling him that I was armed and came very close to being that wrong person. I very much do not want to kill a family pet, especially in my neighborhood, but I have an even stronger desire not to be bitten. I'm sure he learned nothing.

A very valid point. Plus there is a leash law in New York City.

He could have walked away if he was that scared of the dog. I don’t know why she didn’t just put the damn dog on the leash she was standing there holding. She’s more scary than the dog in my opinion, I would have got the hell away from her.

Me, too. From my work as a mail carrier and a precinct walker, I have learned to be wary of loose dogs.
