100 students sent home from Mississippi high school after teacher shows COVID-19 symptoms
Complete dumpster fire.
” Its strange each week what is available and not.”
Our sales are down but we can not meet the low demand. Our warehouse supplies are low.
My company factories are constantly opening up and then shutting back down because of the Virus. Each time we get a new infection the factory is shut down and clean. This creates a low supply of product. Currently averaging 100 new cases a week. We lost one coworker last week.
I am sure other companies are experiencing the same issues.
There is nothing this monster won’t do.
Child sat down at computer to do virtual learning and mom’s ex began shooting. Teacher muted the sound but saw it all until the computer was shot. Imagine teachers and other students will be seeing a lot of crazy stuff. A shooting today, naked morons tomorrow and a picture of a gun next week.
I was looking around at social media posts from parents in Austin and its suburbs. Parents aren’t happy with either in school or virtual learning. Of course, none have presented other options. They’re whining to be whining.
If we still had kids in school, there would be no question. I’d quit work and tighten the already tight budget. They’d be doing virtual learning and too bad about their extra curriculars.
“As detailed in the civil complaint and accompanying court papers filed on Monday, Aug. 3, 2020, Defendants Thu Phan Dinh, Tran Khanh, and Nguyen Duy Toan, all residents of Vietnam, are alleged to have engaged in a wire fraud scheme seeking to profit from the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the complaint, defendants operated more than 300 websites that fraudulently purported to sell products that became scarce during the pandemic, including hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes”
Stein Mart, Lord & Taylor and Lane Bryant to close due to CV. Hmm, I thought those last two were in the process of closing long before CV but lets blame everything on the virus.
RE-There is a Dr. Pepper shortage. Thats like a state disaster. No reason given.
I looked at parents comments on some local school Facebook pages here in GA and I saw much of the same. Split down the middle. Some on the extremes (for example some liberals used it to bash our republican gov or Trump of course) but the majority were not happy that the kids were not being required to wear masks. That was a surprise.
Does Walmart have yeast on their curbside pickup where you are? Anyone else’s Walmart have it? The guy I spoke to here about never having shown it on their internet order page says that was a decision from HQ.
The only other grocery the county has is HEB and it has yeast listed. I told the Walmart guy he may lose this customer because they don’t make all products available for pick up. His solution is I can come into the store... sigh, the whole point of curbside pick up is to NOT go into the store!
We’re already mad that Walmart has taken insulin off their curbside pick up this week. They’ll let you have other meds but you have to go inside for insulin. Excuse me, but either way, they have to take it out of their cold storage for the customer. It’s not like it’s going to spoil walking it out to your car.
And, I have to play tag with dozens of suddenly “out of stock” items the second I press “Order” with the Walmart list and have to go back into my order at 1 AM to re-enter items. Happens every time. It’s an all day and half the night process with Walmart. Limit this and don’t have that game play.
With all that, we still don’t want to change to HEB because they lose your order and give you someone else’s and make you wait two hours after your scheduled time.
Hubby was at Walmart yesterday and said the parking lot was nearly empty and they’re only letting people in the grocery door. Of course, if you’re sick or have a broken leg and need to pick up a prescription, you have to walk all the way to the other side to get to the pharmacy. With them being practically the only place to go in the county for general shopping, their parking lot is always full. It makes no sense unless others aren’t happy with them either.

BREAKING: Researchers at GWU find that 5 biomarkers found in the blood indicate those with COVID infections more likely to require hospitalization or ICU care. Of 299 patients tested, 200 had all 5 elevated biomarkers linked to inflammation of the blood vessels.
The 5 biomarkers are:
IL-6
D-dimers
CRP
LDH
Ferritin
Theres yeast on amazon, as much as I try to avoid. Lots of things in bulk at webrestaurantstore.com and they deliver pretty quick. Ive been happy with the quality. For example, I got months worth of my sons fav cereal just in case. I try to keep comfort food around like that for him. He may not eat it with the powdered milk I have stored but oh well.
Given the increased danger to diabetics, it seems Walmart could try harder. Charge extra if they can’t avoid some spoilage from people not showing up (I assume that, or regulation, is the problem).
Perhaps putting a tiny refrigerator near the area for the staff to use for insulin storage would be so cheap they wouldn’t need to charge more.
Being overweight raises the risk of severe Covid-19 by at least 40%, finds study of English patients - and obese people may be 70% more likely to end up in hospital if they catch the disease
-Researchers analysed data from more than 300,000 people in England
-They found extra weight is linked with ‘higher odds’ of admission to hospital
-Even being only overweight (BMI of 25 to 30) raised the risk by 40%
-It came after a report by Public Health England last month warning of the risks
Comment: just another reminder to shed those extra pounds. Keto or modified Keto is the fast way to get blood sugar levels to optimal. My husband is on his second year and has never felt better. My boys go back and forth with it, but their glucose levels are great. One of my sons went from way above average on weight to borderline underweight so he has to jump, off and on, I do a modified version as I cannot eat enough fats to make it work, but I just really limit carbs.

Another bad day. Another 3,565 cases, and it was down testing day, w positive % of 11%. Second day with 100+ deaths. Hospitalizations also ticking up. Georgia is in a bad spot and looking to get worse. Nothing good to see here

After violently denying for weeks that increased testing caused an increase in cases... LOL!
(I am curious about the drop in testing, I assume it’s from better targeted testing- but who knows...)
