I wouldn't expect *ANYONE* to get arrested in the case, and the only reason anyone is is because race baiting poverty pimps have made a big hue and cry about another black man getting killed. They only care about black deaths when they aren't caused by black people. They are silent on the far larger numbers of murders committed in black on black crime.
Had this guy been white, none of these cases would have been filed. Nobody would care. The guy would have gotten what he deserved for attacking a man armed with a shotgun.
I think black people should be treated the same way white people should be treated. I don't believe in having two different standards of justice.
Arbery was a violent thug, and he made the fatal mistake of attacking a man armed with a shotgun.
First, the reason someone was arrested is because a man is dead and the only available video doesn’t show the crucial first encounter where we could actually judge who was the aggressor. What we DO know is that Arbery did not confront the McMichaels and in fact did pretty much everything humanly possible to exit the situation. If he actually attacked Travis McMichael unprovoked at the front of the truck, that might not matter. But we don’t know what words or actions were exchanged between Travis McMichael and Arbery until after they were already engaged in a physical fight because the truck blocks the video.
Second, what information do you have to say Arbery was a violent thug? He shoplifted in 2017? He walked through a construction site in February of this year? None of that points to him being a violent thug. He did bring a gun to a high school basketball game, which was stupid, and was also 7 years ago.
Unless you were there and standing somewhere off camera with a perfect view of the front of the truck on that day, you don’t know what happened at the front of that truck. If Travis McMichael approached Arbery at the front of the truck pointing his shotgun and/or threatening Arbery, then Arbery had a right to self defense and he died trying to defend his life from a man he believed was about to kill him. If Travis McMichael did NOT make any threatening moves or statements toward Arbery, then Arbery attacked him and Travis McMichael successfully defended his life in self defense.

Travis McMichael and Arbery both disappear from view at 1:13. That’s when they encounter one another. The next time we see either of them, there’s already a fight underway. Since we can’t see what took place right before the fight began, you’re just guessing what happened at the front of the truck just as much as anyone else. And if you’re comfortable letting potential killers walk free based solely on pure speculation, then the US criminal justice system probably isn’t your cup of tea.
A trial will determine the facts of the case. A jury will decide whether the facts support a conviction, beyond a reasonable doubt, that a crime took place under Georgia law. Not having a trial and letting the McMichaels go free would be just as insane and unjust as not having a trial and putting them in prison for the rest of their lives.
