I am not there but I do find it interesting to watch people feeling compelled to take sides in a case like this - one side vs the other. They go back and forth.
I side with none of the losers in this case — whether it be this so-called jogger or the bubbas in the truck. The whole thing was stupid.
I do find the arrest of the guy filming the shooting to be strange but perhaps more will come out later ... or not.
He was arrested because he tried to block Arbery's path (at the other end of the S/D) with his car (or that at least is the allegation).
That is a felony (attempted false imprisonment) as I understand it. And since a person was killed as part of the commission of this attempted "felony"...that translates to a "felony murder" charge for everyone involved.
They had probable cause to arrest him and they ar ok with that.
What if he was working with the thug casing the neighborhood houses and was taking the video in hopes of convincing authorities (if he got nabbed) that he was just jogging thru?
Oh SH!t, Bubba has a shotgun.......
I would like to see all the evidence both sides. From what I have observed the jogger was no saint and was not the innocent soul being put out there, video shows he was prowling as he jogged.
That being said the two being charged for shooting him are idiots. They were not in imminent danger and were looking for the jogger. They should have contacted the police and kept their distance. Fearing for their lives wont fly as a defense in this case as they were hunting and confronting this guy. Stupidity abounds on the shooters and the deceased.
