As of right now, I take 21 supplement pills of various types a day.
The D3 and the 4800 mg of Fish Oil are doctor's orders. The rest were my own choosing after first reading Earl Mindell's Vitamin Bible just after it was first published. I am one of those really picky meat and potatoes kind of guy. I could never force myself to eat most vegetables so I figured that I needed supplements for what I would never get in so called "healthy foods."
People have said that mega-doses of vitamins would burn my stomach up but I have been getting lab tests twice a year for at least the past forty years and the results are always great. Well, except for the diabetes, and once when the doctor asked if I had been taking extra calcium and told me to quit it because my calcium levels were too high.
If I ever get sent to a nursing home, that is one of my concerns. Will I still be able to keep taking my superman fixes?
