The Irish Free State was officially neutral. DeValera did sign the book of condolence for Hitler. But over 40,000 Irish volunteers fought in British uniform during World War II.

Didnt the Irish support Hitler? The Republic of Ireland remained officially neutral during World War II. That did not stop a lot of Irish citizens from enlisting in the British armed forces.
