I respectfully disagree. China holds less than 5% of our debt. Their weaponry is substandard...the list goes on . I encourage you th read Carlos Osweda’s Twitter feed. He is e,pert in this field. I really do mean, respectively. I just believe you give China more credit than they deserve...Their standing is due to MSM lies. PDJT has them where he wants them. And, he can use them as a dumpster fire at will.
With all due respect Richie, I have been studying and observing China for many, many years. They truly believe as The Middle Kingdom that they rule the world and everyone else is a suplecant. They are intent on assuming their “rightful” place and status. They are revving up and are inscrutable. We must proceed with caution. It appears Trump is proceeding with all due caution and in a manner perfected by Trump the clear eyed negotator.
Forget the debt, about $1 trillion. We don’t make antibiotics in this country. We get most of them from China along with a host of other drugs. My lisonopril and statin drugs come from China. Car parts, machinery, clothing, electronic goods, rare earths (used for computer chips), etc. we consume over $500 billion a year of China’s exports.
We can decouple and start new supply chains, but that takes time.
