I may have missed something, but the deaths of nursing home residents who died in a hospital are still counted by the hospital, are they not? IOW, From the standpoint of overall COVID-19 mortality rate for New York, these deaths are indeed counted (just not classified as a “died in a nursing home” death).

Yeah you missed something, the fact they aren’t being counted as nursing home deaths is the whole point.

Check the title of the article.

New York mandated nursing homes to accept coronavirus patients, and surprise they have corona death wildly outpacing the nation.

Yes but they are trying to cover Cuomo’s butt for the poor decision to force nursing homes to take COVID patients which lead to a huge spread of the disease among the most vulnerable.
