The press and media got sloppy and lazy; they used the propaganda printed copy as fact. The press and media became pawns of the white house, failed to question the reliability of the written propaganda, and regurgitated verbatim the printed propaganda. People may call them 'reporters'. I call them lazy 'pukes', and national puke talking heads, who intermarry and become a political cabal. You can't fix inbreeding !

__________

I hear you.

I think Brit was rather reserved. Did you know the CIA spied on him when he was a young journalist? I would think he would have great empathy for Flynn and be a little more animated.

In 2020 Hume learns the media is corrupt and conspires to destroy Republicans. Way to keep your nose to the ground Brit. You made a living off commentating?

See #9.

There were apparently some questions about his son's death.

From NYTimes / 1996

"When its devoted readers reached into their mailboxes this morning for Russia's oldest and most famous Communist newspaper, they came up with a big surprise: nothing."

"Pravda, the ponderous organ of Communist thought founded by Lenin and his Bolshevik comrades in 1912, one of the enduring icons of the Soviet era and probably history's most inaccurately named publication (Pravda means truth in Russian), has ceased publication."

"A victim of many modern ills in the newly competitive marketplace, none have hurt the paper as profoundly as its inflexible desire to cater to a vanishing Communist readership."

"The paper, which once served 11 million people each day and spoke with the absolute, leaden authority of the Kremlin, has shriveled badly in the years since the Soviet Union disappeared in 1991."

_____________

The Slimes writes about itself ....... except for "the vanishing Communist readership".

The very few remaining legitimate journalists should be up in arms like Brit as the Leftist kids today pretending to be news reporters are sullying the once decent reputation for the profession.

I really think they need to self police, as we ask many citizen “groups” to do and stop being quiet. Good for Brit, keep it up.

My favorite clip of Britt was the time he did a segment hacking up Dan Rather. At the end of the segment, Brett went right into the camera and said “Captain Dan, the news man!”

That was hysterical.

“the once decent reputation for the profession.”

Not well deserved. The only difference between today and the 50’s is that there was no alternative media in the 50’s. So journalism was able to carry the water of the progressive left without challenge and the pretense of objectivity was pretty easy to carry off.

Having a monopoly means never having to say you’re sorry.

‘Having a monopoly means never having to say you’re sorry’

And being a Democrat means never having to say ‘I’m guilty’!

Brit Hume is essentially retired. He’s Biden’s age for Pete’s sake. He’s not on TV every week. And if he had been talking up Trump all this time, nobody would care about his opinion now. It would just be the same thing he always says. His opinion counts more than it would if he’d a Trump booster all the time.

Every decade or so Brit Hume awakens, gets excited, and helps out a little.

So well put!! A few cosmopolitans at the country club should settle his nerves.

Notice I said decent, not good. Granted the media has always been biased, but it’s hard to argue that the media is now blatantly aggressively turned to Leftwing activism at every level.

“Journalism is dead to the MSM. They are all bought and paid for political operatives.”

In the mid-90’s, Rush looked into a journalists’ convention. Something like 90% said they were Democrat, and around the same percentage said they got into journalism to be advocates on social issues.

I remember it well. What you quote was the public release, but Britt whole demeanor changed dramatically. I said or meant to imply that while he was still anti-BC, it was by no means as forceful or as cogent. Milquetoast compared to a firebrand. You may remember it differently depending on how old you where at the time.

There were a lot of questions - despite the public release of the manner of his death
