Three things for you to consider;
You said you don’t buy into conspiracy theories, and I understand what you mean in a sense. But, would you ever say the extremely rich and powerful sit back like the rest of us and think “I wonder what is going to happen in the next few years and how it will affect my fortune and power?”? Or do they make moves not visible to others to arrange the chessboard?
And also, if you to think back through history you can’t fail to notice how many important events we now know had some sort of conspiracy behind them.
The creation of the Federal reserve system is an example.
Woodrow Wilson’s wife really did function as President for about a year after his stroke. She insisted only she could speak with him, when the cabinet came in, she would take their papers and review them and SHE presented them to the President in his bedroom, and came out to tell them what “He” wanted. His condition was hidden from the American people.
If the 1960s you said that the US Government was testing LSD on unwitting subjects, running a brothel, injecting plutonium into unwitting subjects, and studying men with syphilis at Tuskegee for 3 decades after penicillin was invented but never treating them, people would think you were a nutty conspiracy theorist. But all were true.
And I think the truly nutty conspiracy theories like the Queen of England is a lizard, etc are put out there precisely to make ANY questioning of the official story seem absurd.
So that said, I do not think you are being overly suspicious at all for thinking stories like this are deliberately being pushed to spread the fear.
Oh, obviously that are conspiracies. It’s a matter of how believable they are. I don’t believe, for instance, that the pandemic is the work of some evil rich guy who wants to inject microchips into every human being on the planet for some dastardly motive that only he knows (or something like that).
I also don’t believe that the virus was intentionally created by the Chinese as a bioweapon. It MIGHT have been (that’s at least more believable than that “microchip” nonsense) but it’s just a little too far fetched for me.
That said, I DO believe the Chinese intentionally allowed it out into the world. The fact that they shut down air flights to China but NOT everywhere else as they began hoarding medical supplies is proof enough for me.
As for my original point, the Democrats ALWAYS take advantage of EVERY opening they can possibly get to destroy us, our country and our President, and 99% of the media are Democrats, so why would anyone expect them to change their behavior now, even during a pandemic? I wish we had a media we could trust to at least give us some of the truth, some of the time... but we don’t. Like that c-word at the press conference yesterday... who could take Trump’s proud proclamation that we’ve bettered the rest of the world in COVID testing and turn it around to accuse him of being in “competition” with other countries? What kind of diseased mind does that take, and why is such a mentally disabled person TOLERATED among civilized people at any level (much less at a White House press briefing). That’s one thing I truly don’t understand about Donald Trump. At first, I presumed (I think rightly) that he entertained questions from these morons simply to experience the pleasure of stomping them into the ground. In the last couple of weeks, however, their infantile “gotcha” questions just make him angry and frustrated... so why does he still CALL on these same vile leftists, briefing after briefing? Why are they even ALLOWED in there? Isn’t it HIS house, and doesn’t HE have a say who gets in and who doesn’t? I know there’s “tradition”, but if Jonathan Karl doesn’t like it, let him take the leftist reporters and go on strike somewhere. Maybe REAL reporters can take their place.
