For my money, perfection is no batter reaching base and 27 batters, 27 strike outs.I was on a baseball forum once and there was a heated debate about whether that is the best possible pitching performance or a perfect game on 27 pitches (which would be the minimum possible). No consensus was reached. The most dominant outcome would be a perfect game of 27 strikeouts on 81 pitches.
