NBC did NOT admit it aired a deceptively edited clip. It said it made a mistake. Big difference.

How about an FCC fine equal to 1 year of advertising on all NBC platforms. That would send a message.

And then what? Nothing, of course. Just a blurb on twitter. There will be no on-air correction or apology from Chuck Todd on next week’s program. So the lie they admitted to remains believed by almost all who saw it. Mission accomplished. Chuck Todd also added his own commentary to it that Barr was “admitting it was a political job”, as though all of the documentation that was uncovered didn’t exist which predicated the dismissal.
By deceptively edited is meant, Chuck Todd intended to lie, is unfit for broadcasting, and should be fired, period.
I don’t know why any member of the Trump administration agrees to these interviews in the first place. They know they won’t be treated fairly. Choke off their ratings and revenue by leaving them out in the cold.
