SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The organization representing more than 500,000 individuals working in Californias beauty and barbering industry plans to file a lawsuit against Governor Newsom after state regulators threatened to pull the licenses of any salons violating the shelter in place orders. The Professional Beauty Federation of California (PBFC) announced it is working with San Francisco-based Center for American Liberty, to demand the reopening of salons and barbershops.
While our industry stood in solidarity with Governor Newsoms original order to flatten the contagion curve so as to not overwhelm our healthcare providers, we believe our state has met that noble goal, said PBFC president Ted Nelson in a statement. A shutdown of our salons and beauty schools cannot extend additional months not weeks, as the Governor announced on April 28, without devastating consequences to the livelihood and businesses of tens of thousands of California citizens. Nor do we believe an extended lockdown of our salons is medically necessary to continue to combat the coronavirus.

Lawyers thinks it’s Christmas they get the money others don’t.
Tens of millions of Californians desperately want to visit a barber shop or beauty salon. If they are not allowed to open up, a huge black market for these services will emerge.

Lawyers thinks its Christmas they get the money others dont.”
What’s your point? You have a problem with lawyers suing the Newsom over his dictatorial edicts?
If you, Californian, voted for Gruesome Newsom, embrace the suck.
If you, Californian, DID NOT vote for Gruesome Newsom, Greyhound is ready when you are.
Lawyers thinks its Christmas they get the money others dont
Which is why they all keep voting for Rats in California who will continue to create these opportunities.
“Tens of millions of Californians desperately want to visit a barber shop or beauty salon.”
I believe that’s an exaggeration.
That said, it’s really important to women over 35. Many seem to think their gray hair must be colored. It’s important to their emotional well being.
But I’m pretty sure there’s not 100 men in CA that are desperate for a barber. Excepting the homos, of course.
This liberal garbage that is happening here in Mexifornia is coming to a State near you. There are a lot of conservatives here. Wherever you are you need to stand and fight. Kinda like the order that was issued at the Battle of the Bulge. Nuts!
But Im pretty sure theres not 100 men in CA that are desperate for a barber
Police? Fire? Food workers? First responders? Docs and nurses?
Shirley you jest.
If they have this many [people on board, they are taking the WRONG APPROACH. What they should do is mount a Ballot Proposition that CUTS the Pay for ALL Public Employee’s by 25% for those making under $50K and 50% for those over that amount, and a Complete elimination of Taxpayer Funded Health Insurance for Public Employee’s, they can enroll in the Greatest Health Care Plan ever invented, California Covered!!!
I don’t know. Rumor had it, my neighborhood shop was offering their services, so I dropped by on my daily walk, and jiggled the door handle. No dice. Not desperate, but I don’t want to be one of those guys I see on Zoom meetings, with a self induced nightmare ;)
Interesting idea.
All of my male friends want to look sharp, not shaggy.
When a Bully starts picking on you, your first move should be to punch him square in the nose.
When you’ve lost San Francisco hairdressers . . .
Cali's dictator could have the plaintiffs' lawyers arrested on the grounds of public safety, and the court would rule in his favor.
Agree I think it’s called kickbacks.
